Wangard Buys Land for Wauwatosa Apartments; Work Begins in July

Wangard Partners Inc. this week bought the project site for its Reef Apartments in Wauwatosa and plans to start construction in about a month.

The Milwaukee developer plans 169 apartments on a former industrial site at 1215 N. 62nd St., near State Street in Wauwatosa. The developer bought the almost 10-acre parcel for $2.26 million this week from an affiliate of Illinois-based Learsi & Co., according to state records.

The development plan calls for six new buildings. Wauwatosa approved those plans and is to give Wangard money to help clean the site and cover the cost of structured parking. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for July 17.
