Wangard Partners Earns Energy Star Status

Wangard Earns Energy Star

Wangard Partners, Inc. (WPI), one of the largest property management companies in southeastern Wisconsin, has secured another building certification. The U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded Energy StarTM status to the WIS27, LLC building located at 635 N. 26th Street in Milwaukee.

Wangard Partners is currently providing property management services to this 59,700 sq. ft. building and to its major tenants the Department of Children & Families and Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare. The team (Wangard Partners, KBS Construction, Korb and Associates Architects as well as the Department of Children & Families and Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare) worked diligently throughout the Energy Star certification process.

The EPA certifies buildings as Energy StarTM when they utilize 35% less energy and generate 35% less greenhouse gas emissions than other similar buildings across the country. The Commercial and Industrial facilities Energy StarTM program started in 1992 and since that time more than 25,000 buildings have been certified throughout the nation. According to the EPA Energy StarTM website, of these certified buildings, $3.4 billion in cost savings have resulted and more than 17 million MtCO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) gas emissions have been prevented from entering the atmosphere.
