Wangard Partners, Inc. (WPI) has secured their first user for their Chippewa Crossings development. The City of Chippewa Falls is set to build a new 25,000 sq. ft. fire station within the heart of the development. Chippewa Crossings is located on the southeast side of the city and is northwest of HWY 29 and HWY 178.
“We are thrilled to partner with and support the city regarding their fire department needs and know that their new station will not only achieve the city’s goals, but be a good neighbor for additional development on site.”
– Stewart Wangard, CEO of Wangard Partners, Inc.
While keeping their eye on the future growth of the City of Chippewa Falls, the city has purchased a three acre site within the core of the Chippewa Crossing development site and has engaged Five Bugles Designs to complete the construction documents for the new station. These documents are set to be completed yet this winter with an anticipated groundbreaking in April. The new station is expected to be operational by February/March of 2017.
“It is exciting for the City of Chippewa Falls and Wangard Partners to begin the development of this property with our new south side fire station! This location is advantageous for current and future residents and commercial businesses alike.”
– Gregory Hoffman, Mayor of the City of Chippewa Falls
With all new utilities, excellent access to both local roads and state highways, and the new city fire station sited with a spring 2016 construction start, Wangard Partners is now seeking to add additional large and small commercial users to fill the remaining 56-acre development. The company has engaged the services of a local brokerage firm, Eau Claire Realty, to assist with identifying uses that are needed, but not currently located within the community.
Once the new station is built the city plans to keep and renovate the current Station #1 (211 Bay Street) and close the existing Station #2 (35 E. Park Avenue). The new station will house the majority of equipment for the fire department as well as the administrative offices.
