Matt Moroney is a well-respected leader and contributor to local communities, with extensive knowledge of the public sector and community development.

Matt Moroney oversees all aspects of Wangard Partners and has an integral role in the regulatory, environmental and project approval aspects of the business, enabling Matt to draw on his strength and experience of working with a diverse group of regulatory agencies. Matt also assists Stewart Wangard in the execution of key company and project level initiatives.

As former Executive Director of the Metropolitan Builders Association, Matt skillfully led highly independent and successful homebuilders to work as a team to accomplish industry-shared goals. He later was asked by Gov. Scott Walker to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Subsequently, Matt served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Walker until he was selected as the Strategic Economic Initiatives Director for the State of Wisconsin. In this role, he was the key individual that coordinated government activities for the largest economic development project in the State’s history.  He acted as liaison between the State of Wisconsin, Racine County, the Village of Mt. Pleasant, FOXCONN, and several federal agencies. His work resulted in the start of construction of the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park within a year from project inception and thousands of construction and other full-time jobs being brought to Southeast Wisconsin.

Matt is an active community member and holds positions on several organizations’ Boards of Directors, including Citizens Bank, Waukesha Business Alliance and La Casa Esperenza Foundation. He also serves on the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties Public Policy Committee.
