Artisan Partners renews lease, could expand in downtown Milwaukee

Artisan Partners has renewed its lease at a downtown Milwaukee office building, where future growth could lead to an addition being built. Artisan has signed a new long-term lease for around 82,700 square feet at 875 E. Wisconsin Ave., the firm announced Friday. Artisan has been an anchor tenant at the building since it was completed in 2003. The new lease doesn't expand Artisan's space, although it is being remodeled. Also, the building's owner, an investment group managed by Wangard Advisors, has worked with Eppstein Uhen Architects Inc. to design a possible expansion to accommodate Artisan's future needs. That would include up to nine stories, with more than 165,000 square feet of space, to be built on top of the existing three-level parking structure. The eight-story 875 building now has 206,800 square feet and is fully occupied, said Stewart Wangard, the firm's CEO and chairman. Artisan has expanded globally since it was founded in 1994 in Milwaukee, where 190 of its 304 employees are located. Along with its Milwaukee headquarters, Artisan operates major offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and London. Read the full article at JSOnline.com »
