MLK Drive building sold for restoration into Veterans Affairs office

A Wangard Partners Inc. affiliate bought a building on North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and will renovate it into offices for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.Wangard, Milwaukee, will use historic tax credits to restore the 1925 building at 1830 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, said Burton Metz, vice president for Milwaukee-based Wangard. It most recently was used as an office, but in the 1920s was a horse and carriage house, he said.The developer has secured a lease agreement with the VA to establish a new Milwaukee office there, Metz said.
